Since customers are able to send a gift without a shipping address, we won’t know exactly how much the shipping cost will be. To solve this problem, Gipht has an “Estimated Shipping Fee” that will be charged on all Gipht orders.
This Estimated Shipping fee is to be set up by the merchant upon install. Alternatively, if the shop offers free shipping, this setup can be skipped altogether.
To set up the Estimated Shipping fee for the first time:
Access the Gipht app settings from your Shopify Admin by navigating to Apps → Gipht → Settings.
Locate the Estimated Shipping Product section. Set the amount to whatever makes sense for your shop, perhaps whatever the average shipping cost is for a typical order. Click “Create” to create this fee which will be allied to all Gipht orders.
This fee can now be viewed in your shop’s products.
This fee will be applied to all Gipht orders.
To Update or Remove the Estimated Shipping fee
Access the Gipht app settings from your Shopify Admin by navigating to Apps → Gipht → Settings.
Locate the Estimated Shipping Product section. Update the fee amount or click the “Remove” button to delete it all together. Removing the fee will cause all Gipht orders to have free shipping.
An alternative to the Estimated Shipping fee is to use the Gipht app’s Variable Shipping option. For more on that, please see Variable Shipping.
